Overview
This guide explains how to update or replace dashboards displayed on your Salesforce / 8020CRM home page using the Lightning App Builder. Whether you're customizing views for REI acquisitions, KPIs, or sales metrics, this process allows you to personalize the dashboard experience for your users.
Before You Begin
You must have System Admin or App Page customization permissions in Salesforce Lightning Experience.
Why It Matters
Editing the home page dashboard lets you:
Surface the most relevant data for your team
Tailor KPIs to user roles or departments
Improve focus and reporting visibility
Step 1: Enter Lightning App Builder
From the home page, click the gear icon in the top-right corner
Select Edit Page
This opens the Lightning App Builder

Step 2: Select or Replace the Dashboard
Option A: Replace an Existing Dashboard
Click on the existing dashboard component
On the right-side settings panel, use the Dashboard drop-down
Select the dashboard you want to display (e.g., REI Acquisitions, Sales KPIs)

Option B: Add a New Dashboard Component
In the left-hand Components panel, type Dashboard in the search box
Drag the Dashboard component to the desired spot (e.g., replace the top dashboard)
Select the desired dashboard from the drop-down

Step 3: Save and Activate
Once your updates are complete, click Save in the top-right corner
If needed, Activate the page for specific users or profiles
Return to the home page to verify the change

Best Practices
Use dashboard filters to tailor data by user or business unit
Test dashboard load time and visibility in sandbox before deploying
Keep the top-most dashboard focused on team or role-specific KPIs
